CDL Program Outline

  1. Study for the CDL permit exam using materials provided by Lezette Express, including the New York Commercial Driver’s Manual, online practice tests, and a CDL prep app.
  2. Schedule and complete the CDL permit written exams, including General Knowledge, Passenger, and School Bus endorsements.
  3. After obtaining your CDL permit, you will train one-on-one with a Lezette Express instructor to prepare for the road test. Training typically totals approximately 20 hours, though additional or fewer hours may be required based on the driver’s skill level and comfort.
  4. Lezette Express will schedule your DMV road test, which you will take while accompanied by one of our instructors.
  5. Once you pass the road test, you must successfully complete a background check, pre-service training class, and a DOT physical and drug test.
